Perth push on after Catarcione injury

Gustavo Catarcione scored twice before succumbing to a hamstring injury as Perth SC continued their winning ways in the QBE Night Series.
Perth are top of Pool B after backing up their opening round victory over Armadale with a 4-2 win against ECU Joondalup at Percy Doyle Reserve.
Former Balcatta striker Catarcione scored either side of Shane Pickering’s goal for ECU in a blistering opening spell. But the Brazilian front man lasted just 24 minutes before limping off.
Ayden Dragun extended Perth’s lead in the 37th minute before Josh Booysen pulled a goal back for ECU. Harley Orr completed the scoring in the last minute.
Stirling Lions kept up their 100 percent record thanks to Daniel Micevski’s first-half double in a 2-1 victory over Balcatta, whose goal at Macedonia Park was scored by Cameron Teese.
Armadale looked to be on their way to victory against Sorrento after goals from James Atkins and Alex Salmon gave them a 2-0 lead inside half an hour.
But the Gulls had other ideas and after Danny Cain had pulled back a goal, Sean Canham scored either side of half-time to seal a 3-2 win.
Floreat Athena are top of the pile in Pool A thanks to Jon Stynes’ late winner in a 1-0 success against Perth Glory at Dalmatinac Park, while Brian Woodall’s goal earned Inglewood United a 1-0 win over Cockburn City.
PS4 PlayStation 4 NPLWA champions Bayswater City beat Subiaco 3-0 thanks to an own goal, Jack Allen’s first for his new club and a third from Gustavo Giron Marulanda at Macedonia Park.
