Brisbane Roar’s latest signing – Australian Under 17 captain Joe Caletti – is set to be part of the club’s PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues campaign in 2016.
The 17-year-old central midfielder commenced training with the club’s Hyundai A-League squad today and the club has confirmed he is firmly in their plans for the PlayStation 4 National Premier League season.
Caletti originally hails from Sydney and captained the Joeys at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Chile late last year - where he lead the team to a victory over world football powerhouse Argentina.
He was also captain of the FFA Centre of Excellence - twice being named the elite team's Player of the Year and amassing 28 appearancesin PlayStation 4 NPL Capital Football competition.
Roar reportedly beat out a host of other clubs to secure Caletti to his first professional contract, with the club’s strong reputation for player development cited as an important lure in his decision.
Roar Head Coach John Aloisi said he was delighted to welcome Caletti to the club and suggested a bright future for his new recruit.
"Joe is one of the most sought-after talented young players in Australia," he said.
"It is wonderful to have him at the club, particularly as he plays in one of the most important positions within the structures and the way we play at the Roar," Aloisi concluded.
Brisbane Roar Youth finished second in Conference A of the Foxtel National Youth League during the summer and commence their PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues season against Brisbane Strikers in late February.
