Wayback Football Club travelled from Port Lincoln to Wudinna with an A and B Grade team to take on Le Hunte on 9 August 1947. The budget for this match is reproduced from a scan of the original here, providing an interesting insight to football as it was.
Descendants from both sides are still playing today.
Le Hunte had been hosted in Port Lincoln by Wayback FC during the Mortlock Shield in June, so this was an opportunity to return the favour.
Teams lists and profiles from both the A Grade and B Grade matches are shown, some free/dubious advice on how to become a good footballer (no doubt aiming to confuse the visiting team!), also a plan on the evening celebrations, tea in the local Hall followed by a Grand Ball. Advertisements from the businesses of the day complete a very informative budget printed by "Times" Print Port Lincoln.
New "Talkie" released, as advertised "National Velvet" Book early!
