New Moreton Bay United recruit Jacob Fulluck made a promising start in his first match in Jets colours despite his side falling 3-2 in their pre-season opener against Logan Lightning.

Fulluck, who joined Jets in the off-season from Sunshine Coast FC, won a penalty for the Jets’ opening goal before netting their second late in the match.

However, it wasn’t enough to overcome their Brisbane Premier League opponents, who notched their first pre-season win against PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland opposition this pre-season.

Jets fielded a mix of new recruits, returning stars and triallists for the match, however were on the back-foot inside the half hour as Lightning’s Richard Greer opened accounts from a free-kick.

The visitors replied just minute later when Fulluck was awarded a contentious penalty which was converted by Jets’ 2015 Grand Final hero Jordan Farina.

Lightning reclaimed the lead prior to the break when lackluster Jets’ marking enabled Jake Sherwood to deliver a looping headed finish past trialing goalkeeper Xander Gwynn-Jones, previously with Brisbane Strikers.

The hosts doubled their advantage early in the second half – another contentious penalty decision this time going against Jets’ James Honey and converted by Josh Sherwood.

Jets replied with a goal as the match entered the final twenty minutes - exciting youth talent Finn Beakhurst combined sharply with triallist Taiga Ishikura to play through Fulluck – however, despite a late push, proved unable to reel in the hosts.

Reyze Kelly, Sam Dickinson, Jacob Mitchell and Liam Previtera were amongst announced Jets signings that saw game-time for the defending PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Champions.
