Gore Hill Oval, North Shore’s home for over 30 years, is set to have a major redevelopment.
This week, local by-election candidate Trent Zimmerman joined Federal Sports Minister Sussan Ley ; Willoughby Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney and representatives of the club to announce $9.5m of Federal Funding; with the Council to be the major sponsor of the project.
This is a major project that will see construction of new grandstand, larger club rooms, 4 change rooms, an indoor sports centre with at least six netball courts as well as underground car parking.
The project will also include a completely new surface, with much needed new drainage, which is great news for everyone. Once this is completed it will provide a quality, all weather surface that will enable the club to continue its growth without the waterlogging and wear issues that have been a problem.
The new facilities will see Gore Hill Oval become one of the best quality venues for Australian Football in Sydney. North Shore wishes to thank the government and Council for their support and we look forward to a long and prosperous future in a venue we will be proud to call home.
