Sunshine Coast FC have announced the signing of European striker Glody Ntumba for the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2016 season.
Ntumba, 19, is a dual Scottish and Congolese citizen and played last season in the development squad of highly regarded Italian Serie A club Genoa CFC.
Prior to his stint in Italy, the towering attacker played professionally with Glasgow Rangers FC in Scotland’s lower divisions.
Ntumba is expected to link up with the Fire squad in the new year and explained Fire’s reputation for developing young players is one of several factors that influenced him to make the move to PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland.
“I am looking forward to the challenge and high standard of competition I expect to find in the NPL,” Ntumba said.
“I cannot think of a better place than the Sunshine Coast to play football in Australia.”
“The experience I have had in playing in Scotland and Italy at a high level will, I hope, place me in a position where I can help my new Club in having a successful 2016 Season,” he concluded.
Ntumba is Fire’s second visa player signing of the off-season, joining English defender Connor Hancock.
