Nor-West Jets are pleased to announce their coaches for the 2016 season.
The Jets had quite a few people apply for the coaching positions and wish to thank them all for their interest.
The first grade coach for the 2016 season is a former Jet and premiership player Casey Wenselowski. Casey is better known by his nickname “BOFT”.
Casey played for the Jets from 2005 until 2011 before he was posted to Townsville. He played 91 games for the Jets, kicked 82 goals, he won back to back premierships in 2005 & 2006 and also captained first grade from 2008-2010.
He started coaching as a playing assistance with the Jets before moving up to Townsville where he joined the University Hawks as a playing coach for 4 seasons. Casey and his family will be returning in December for another posting to the Richmond RAAF Base.
Casey is looking forward to returning to the Jets and coaching the 1st grade side, he is keen to get into it and start the preseason on 12th January. He will be working closely with a long term Jet player Michael "Sunny" Gray who has accepted the Assistant Coaching job. Sunny steps back up into a Div Three position after assisting Seb Murray in Div Five last season. He coached Div Three in 2013 with Chris Kyle. Sunny will also be working with the juniors as a development coach.
Seb "Cbass" Murray will continue to Coach our Div Five team in 2016 for a second season, while supporting Casey in the development of Jets players throughout the year. Cbass’ enthusiasm to develop both his own and the players skills will be key to our success in 2016 and future.
The Jets would like to congratulate all the Coaching appointments and wish them every success in 2016.
