Role of the Board
The Board has the responsibility for governance of the league on behalf of the member clubs. The board provides efficient and effective administration processes and promotes both football and netball in the Gippsland region. The boards objectives include:
• To provide advice, assistance, encouragement, resources and support for member clubs.
• To provide and implement policies for the members clubs.
• To promote code of conduct ethics.
• To promote family involvement.
• To promote and encourage joint participation of football and netball.
• To promote and raise the profile of the GL as the Major League with the highest standard of football and netball in the Gippsland Region.
• To develop marketing and partnership opportunities with businesses that will benefit both themselves and the GL.
• Nurture and reward an environment that focuses on continuous improvement and innovation
Selection criteria
• Good knowledge of working practices of NFP sporting boards and/or committees
• Strong Interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Passion for football and/or netball;
• Expertise in any of marketing, communications and social media
• Business strategy also well regarded;
• Knowledge of Board governance procedures;
• Commitment to attend monthly board meetings & major functions throughout the season. (Gippsland location).
