Auburn youngster Haneen Zreika has taken out the Giants Best and Fairest for 2015.
The presentation night reflected the truly multicultural, and community centred nature of our club, being held at the Lebanese Muslim Association Grand Function Hall, catered by a small business owned and run by a local woman, and with performances from Suara Indonesia Dance Group.
The awardees serve to illustrate the strong future our club has, with most winners being under 20 years of age. Remarkably, Haneen, Angela and Amne are all in their first year of senior football, and with less than 10 games each under their belts they are still young enough to play Youth Girls for at least one more year.
We'd like to acknowledge the attendance and support of Katie Page (CEO, Harvey Norman), Richard Griffiths (COO, GWS GIANTS), Leigh Meyrick (Media, GWS GIANTS), Sahar Dandan (Project Coordinator, Lebanese Muslim Association) and Yema Akbar (Crescent Wealth), all who made brief addresses and assisted in the presentation of awards.
Finally, we'd like to thank our sponsors and partners that have helped to make 2015 the success that it has been, especially Harvey Norman, who have been instrumental in our development. To be able to walk into our local store at Auburn and see pictures of our games has been a remarkable experience and we cannot thank them enough. Special mentions also to Crescent Wealth and Cor Cordis, for supporting us since the beginning of our journey, Hawa Charcoal Chicken for being our official post match restaurant, Dolly's Bootcamp for keeping our players fit and transforming their lives, and the LMA for their ongoing assistance with our Youth Girls team. We hope to show our appreciation by working harder to make 2016 an even bigger year.
