Nor-West Jets new recruit Daniel Costa has taken out the Div 3 Best & Fairest “SHIPLEY MEDAL” at the Jets Presentation Night at Windsor RSL. When Costa came down to preseason the coaches knew they had an outstanding talent. Costa played only 9 games due to his busy work load in the Army, he finished on 97 votes and was 20 votes clear of club Captain Aaron Bayne.
3rd was Chris Collins who returned to the club for the first time since joining the Navy. Collins was travelling from Newtown to train and play until being transferred to Victoria where he continued travel up from for a couple of games in the second half of the year. Collins played only 6 games and finished on 50 votes and shared the leading Goalkicking award with Ethon Coombs. 2014 Shipley Medallist Owen Butcher finished 4th on 46 votes.
Former Div 3 ruckman Troy Clent has taken out the Div 5 Best & Fairest “Paul Hibbins Medal” with 39 votes from his 6 games. It was a close vote count with Adam Newton & Blake Heggie both finishing 2nd on 36 votes. Marty Ingham came in 3rd with 34 votes from his 4 games.
