They are proudly holding the inaugural Ivars "Kep" Kepitis memorial trophy, named in honour of the great Trober who died on the court during the June 2006 Grand Final of the over 30's A grade at Eltham. La Trobe won the grand final 45-27. This brought the old bloke's record to 10 wins out of the last 15 grand finals which can definitely put the team in the "Dynasty" class.
The Veteran's committee are interested in any over 30's who may wish to pull on the Trober red in one of Melbourne's comps or even at the Master's Games. Interested men or women are encouraged to email basketball@latrobe.edu.au to receive more information.
