Jets Confident Of Pitch Control

Moreton Bay United assistant coach Dave Harris says his side are not concerned by playing their PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Semi-Final on an artificial pitch.
Jets take to Lilys Stadium in Sydney tonight against PlayStation 4 NPL New South Wales Premiers Blacktown City - with the winner booking a spot in next week’s Grand Final.
For Jets the match is their first competitive match outside of Queensland in their brief three year history.
Harris said the unfamiliar synthetic playing surface - of a similar type to that which has greeted fellow PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland clubs in Westfield FFA Cup away ties in southern climes - could well play into the Jets hands.
“Some of our strengths are pushing the ball around and we’ll get a true bounce which is great,” Harris explained.
“I think a little bit of the struggle we had in the second half of the year was because of the uneven surface at Wolter Park, so I think the guys will love this one.”
“(Coach) Adam (Piddick) and I were down there (at Blacktown) on Sunday. The bounce is true, the roll is true and I think our guys will thrive on that.”
He said despite the historic nature of the match, it was important that the team aren’t overawed by the occasion and stick to their game plan against Blacktown City.
“The stakes are higher in a final series, but you push the stakes aside. I treat this as just another game of football.”
“You still have to go out, do the business and get a result - any reward comes after that.”
Jets successful returns this year have caught many by surprise outside of PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland circles.
However, Harris said what the team may lack in polish and pedigree, it more than makes up for with spirit and perseverance.
“It’s probably fair to say we’re not the best technical side in the comp, but there are so many other wonderful attributes – the guys work so hard for each other, there’s that will to win and desire to push on,” he explained.
“In the second half of the season teams started to work us out, but the way the players pulled each other through and kicked on was great.”
“When you’ve seen that in action, no, I’m not surprised to see where we are,” he concluded.
