Balmain midfielder Hugh Priest has won the 2015 Snow Medal for the best player in the AFL Sydney men’s Division One competition.
Priest in his first season in AFL Sydney after transferring from Queensland, polled 24 votes to be the runaway leader from Macquarie University’s James Brackin and UTS’s Oliver Brecht.
Priest received best on ground honours in round 2, 4, 7, 11 and 18 and also polled in six other rounds during the season. He took the lead in Round 4 after being best on ground against Southern Power, and did not give up the lead after that point.
Brackin and Brecht finished second and third respectively on 14 and 13 votes. Last years Sanders Medallist (Division Two best and fairest award), Ryan Kennedy from Sydney University enjoyed another great season and finished in fourth on 12 votes with Macquarie University’s Angus Rodgers a further vote behind to round out the top five.
