What a big week we had and an even bigger weekend this week with 6 cracking football and 8 fantastic netball games on show. From the 4 teams participating in the respective competitions on the weekend the eventual winner will arise from.
The weekend isn’t the only thing to look forward to with Monday Night being the GOTAFE GVFL night of nights with the Morrison and Wellman Family Medal presentation night.
In a predominant team game this night will see us highlight individual honours. The best and fairest winner of each competition will join an illustrious group of people as their name will be etched in the history books of the GOTAFE GVFL.
Not only are the B & F presented we also have the opportunity to highlight the forwards of the competition through leading goal kicker accolades, the timekeepers have assisted all year in voting for their best player in the Sherrin and Shepparton Printing Services award.
We will also pay tribute to the club who has been the most successful on the football field and the netball court as a collective with the presentation of the George Hunter Club Championship.
This year the Forty Winks award took a different step with coaches voting weekly to culminate in an award judged the Most Valuable Player which will be exciting to see how that race finishes up FYI it boils down to the last round.
The media awards are also an integral part of the night with this competition being broadcast across print, radio and youtube and all having an opportunity on saying who they believe their best player in the competitions is.
Lastly and by definitely no means least we also have the awards for our volunteers. The administrator of the year (sponsored by Neil Beer Seymour) is a much respected and sort after award. The spirit of football award (Sponsored by Veolia) will be presented to an individual that is the embodiment of what community football is about.
Finally GOTAFE had rebranded an award to now be the GOTAFE GVFL volunteer of the year which all clubs are aware could go to any number of people in their football club. There are 4 nominees who were selected and highlighted throughout the year within this very program and online.
So if you’re not too busy Monday night flick your radio onto 98.5 One Fm, or jump online to listen to the broadcast. Worst case follow us through our twitter or Facebook pages as we release all the information as it comes to hand.
Good luck to all the teams this weekend and also good luck to those who have been invited Monday night.
