AVENEL v TALLYGAROOPNA
We are one week away from the league’s biggest occasion – the grand final and we have the best three teams left vying for this year’s premiership.
Tallygaroopna tuned up for the preliminary final with a convincing win against Stanhope.
It was as emphatic as Julie Telford would have liked given when the teams played a month ago it was reasonably close for most of the match.
Avenel will go into the do-or-die final with the exactly set of circumstances it faced when it lost Nagambie late in the year.
The Swans were able to bounce back that time and account for Tallygaroopna.
The most notable difference this afternoon is that there is a lot more riding on this contest – defeat and the season is over and win and get another crack at Nagambie.
Coach Kathryn Hard will play an extremely important role in trying to guide the Swans.
Her opposite number will be equally as important.
Home court has got to help a little bit, but Avenel will not fear going to Tallygaroopna.
The Swans won at Tallygaroopna at the end of May and beat the Redlegs’ at home in the final home and away round.
Tallygaroopna has plenty of finals experience and plenty of prove after last year’s heart-breaking loss.
I’m going for an upset and Tallygaroopna to break its duck against Avenel in 2015 and qualify for the big dance to face off against Nagambie.
