The UTS Bats have captured the Division Five premiership by defeating UNSW/ES by 79 points.
The Bats were too strong all day leading the start to finish to run out 20.13 to 7.12 winners.
It was a tough and tight opening quarter as both sides attempted to get off to a good start. It was the Bats who started the better by kicking three goals, including two to Todd Thorn-Saville, to one in the opening term to go to the first break up by 13 points.
The second term was a high scoring affair with goals being kicked at both ends of the ground but once again it was the Bats with more chances than the Bulldogs kicking six goals to three to grow the margin to 29 points at the half time break.
If the Dogs wanted to stay in the contest, the first couple of goals were important and they were able to get the first of the quarter through Sam Wright who was impressive at both ends of the ground. However they were unable to string consecutive goals while the Bats continued piling on the goals to set up a comfortable lead heading into the last term.
It was party time in the last for the Bats as they kicked six goals to one with Matt Hagias very lively kicking a few late to celebrate the premiership.
Thorn-Saville was outstanding up forward when the game was on the line, kicking four goals and being named best on ground. Adrian Reynolds and Jacob Alsford were fanastic in picking up possessions all day. For the Bulldogs, Cillian Stritch, captain Jake Reid and Michael Martin tried hard all day to keep their side in the contest.
