Brisbane Strikers have implemented a media lockdown ahead of this weekend’s PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Grand Final.
Club administrators informed Football Queensland's Media department this week that no players or coaches will be made available to media as part of the promotion of the end-of-season showpiece, with the club instead opting to concentrate on their match day preparations.
Strikers will face PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2015 Premiers Moreton Bay United at Wolter Park on Sunday in the Grand Final.
The Football Queensland Media team will strive to continue to provide supporters of both clubs with coverage and insight ahead of the highly anticipated match without the assistance of Strikers.
It is understood the media lockdown will be lifted once the Grand Final has concluded.
UPDATE: Brisbane Strikers have issued a statement on their website in response to this article and FQ Media representatives have since been in contact with the club.
This discussion concluded that media access remains restricted to more than just FQ Media employees, despite the statement on the Strikers website.
No request was made by Brisbane Strikers representatives for any corrections or clarifications to the original report.
