University Cougars vs Dalby Swans
First Bounce: 9:25am
The University Cougars take on the Dalby Swans in the U14 McDonald’s Shield. The Cougars have had the luxury of having the week off thanks to their 17 point victory over the Dalby Swans a fortnight ago. While the Swans won the right to do battle with Cougars after running riot over the top of the Bombers last week.
The Cougars will be looking to go back to back this year and go through the season undefeated, while the Swans will be looking to win their first U14 Premiership since 2011.
The Cougars will start this game heavy favourite but will the pressure get to them as they look to go through the whole season undefeated. The Swans battled hard in their meeting in the 2nd Semi-Final going down by 17 points and will be looking to bounce back. The Cougars have been the best defence team for the season while the Swans have been the best attacking team through the course of the year. It will be interesting to see which style of play wins the battle of the Grand-Final.
Can the Cougars continue their winning ways or will Swans finally beat the Cougars.
This game is not to be missed.

KEY MATCH UPS
Storm Arnold V Ben Le Quesne– The 2015 Colls Medallist Storm Arnold will look to continue his outstanding season with a victory in the Grand-Final. Le Quesne has had a sensational year himself for the Swans and would love to get that premiership medalling around his neck. These two boys are the keys for their respective teams. Look for Fyfe vs Dangerfield battle if these two get to go head to head. Clean hands, contested ball winners and can both kick team lifting goals. This will be a mouth-watering match up.
Callum Banim V Joshua Halling– These two players will not match up against each other but whoever can have the bigger say on the day will go a long way in winning the Premiership. Banim ran 5th in the goal kicking and uses his smarts and speed around goal to be a dangerous weapon for the Cougars. The Swans have power forward Halling to kick the ball too. Halling was the leading goal kicker for the season with 66 goals. Whichever forward can hit the scoreboard the most could decide who wins or who loses.
Jaiden Fidge V Vincent Melbin –Fidge has had an outstanding season for the Cougars. His ability to play as a midfielder and a dangerous forward make him a player to watch. His ability to hit the scoreboard has made the Cougars are very dangerous team. His skills are first class and his run is a highlight to the Cougars. Melbin is your strong contested ball winner. His ability to extract the ball from the midfield and get it to the outside runners is first class. Very clean with his hands and skills to match make him a player capable of taking the game away from the Cougars.
Juan Kruger V Cameron Ferguson- The game starts in the middle and the battle between these two big bodies will go a long way in deciding this match. Kruger has been instrumental in the middle of the field with his ruck work and follow up efforts are huge. Ferguson has been huge for the Swans since coming back from his injury and has shouldered the ruck load strongly. His ability to bash and crash packs is second to none. They will both play a key role in their team’s chances on lifting the shield.
