Moreton Bay United will fly the flag for Queensland in the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues 2015 Finals Series - with a place in next year’s Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 on the line.
As 2015 Premiers Jets will represent PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland against the Premiers of each of the seven other Member Federations in the end-of-season, knock-out series.
The matches will mark the first time Jets have competed on the national stage in their three year history, with the club failing to advance beyond the preliminary rounds in the first two installments of the Westfield FFA Cup.
Winning the national title will bring more than just bragging rights as Australia’s top team outside the Hyundai A-League - it also guarantees a guaranteed place in the Westfield FFA Cup 2016 Round of 32 draw.
The Jets first hurdle is PlayStation 4 NPL Northern New South Wales Premiers Edgeworth Eagles, who will travel to Brisbane to play the Jets at Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre (QSAC) on September 19.
The match against Eagles will be the main event and follow the highly-anticipated curtain raiser between the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Under 23 All-Stars and Brisbane Roar FC.
The representatives from the other Member Federations in the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series are:
- South Melbourne FC (Victoria)
- Blacktown City FC (New South Wales)
- Canberra FC (ACT)
- West Adelaide SC (South Australia)
- Bayswater City SC (Western Australia)
- Olympia FC Warriors (Tasmania)
South Melbourne and Bayswater City have both qualified for the second successive year, while Canberra FC also make their second appearance after qualifying in the inaugural year of the competition in 2013.
Previous winners of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Final Series were New South Wales club Sydney United 58 FC in 2013 and South Australian club Metrostars in 2014.
Queensland was represented by Olympic FC in the 2013 edition of the competition and Palm Beach SC in 2014.
