SOUTH Toowoomba representatives got the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Brisbane Lions operate on Wednesday 26th August.
As part of the Fox Footy Club Rewards program, eight Bombers members toured the Gabba and got a first hand look at the club's facilities
The tour was hosted by the Lions' coaching panel and came during AFL Darling Downs finals time.
Our club is very lucky to have had inner sanctum access of an AFL club. Despite the differences in leagues and levels of professionalism, we feel there were definitely learnings we could take from our visit and apply them at our own club," Souths division one coach Shaun Reardon said.
The Fox Footy Club Rewards program has allowed 17 grassroots clubs from across Australia the chance to get a closer look the workings of an AFL club in recognition of work done to benefit their community.
The Bombers experience comes on the back of a similar inner sanctum opportunity earlier in the year where 6 Darling Downs representative coaches ventured to the Gabba for the Lions Vs Saints match. During this game coaches provided feedback to Lions assistant coaches on specifics of the game and received feedback from the information passed on.
Both experiences have been of great worth to all involved and a big thankyou goes out to the Brisbane Lions for providing such opportunities.
The Lions play they last game of season 2015 this Saturday when they take on finals bound Western Bulldogs 1:45pm at the Gabba.
