Welcome to the final home and away game of season 2015.
I would like to first of all say congratulations to all clubs on a successful year (so far) and those teams that haven’t made finals, no need to worry next year is a new opportunity for you.
It’s fantastic to see that 11 of the 12 clubs will feature in the finals campaign over the next few weeks which is good for both football and netball in the region.
I want to take this opportunity to say thanks to each and every club, committee member, and general supporter for making me feel very welcome upon my arrival earlier this year.
It has been a whirlwind 8 months since I arrived in the region but the support provided to me from all involved in this great league has been 2nd to none.
The history of this well respected competition is something that I’m continuing to learn and with the recent hall of fame as well as individual clubs having their own hall of fame/ legends nights is making that job a little bit easier.
As we head into finals the league continues to look into the future and how we can continue to improve for season 2016 and beyond.
The points system will be in place for season 2016 with the salary cap earmarked for season 2017 introduction which will ensure the sustainability of clubs for many years and alleviate much of the stress on club volunteers to continue to raise big dollars.
The league is in its final stages of presenting a survey which will be sent out to all fans of this competition to obtain feedback throughout the finals series. The feedback collected by the league will then be used to steer the direction of the GOTAFE GVFL over the next 3-5 years as it will be utilised to update the leagues strategic plan.
When this survey is finalised we hope that all supporters complete this as it gives you the opportunity to have your say or many aspects of the league.
Once again I would like to wish all players, coaches, team mangers involved in their final match today the best of luck, hope you all enjoy the day and have a safe and fun night as you have earned it.
