Jett Trotter is enjoying the challenge that senior football presents.
And that is why he is excited by the team’s next challenge against Benalla rather than fearing taking them on.
“They are going very well at the minute and it’s certainly going to show us where we are at heading into the finals,’’ Trotter said.
The 16-year-old is taking a very similar path to many aspiring young footballers wanting to make the step up with their football.
He was playing in the under 16s with Euroa less than two years ago and admits to wanting a challenge when he made the decision to quit after two games and move to the under 18s.
“It (under 16s) wasn’t a really high standard and I gained a lot from playing a full year with the thirds,” he said.
“I then played the first half this year and got the call up to make debut against Kyabram at Euroa.”
He says the challenge of playing on of the best in Tom Sheldon proved very beneficial for him.
“It was a very good experience to be honest as he led me to the ball,” he said.
“The second time I played on Chris Atkins and he was really helpful with giving me tips.”
The Year 10 Euroa Secondary College says there is a good vibe around the club at the moment as it prepares for their first finals campaign in nearly 10 years.
And he says Nathan Gilliland has been fantastic in his coaching this year.
“He has been good in telling me what I need to improve and he works with each player on a one-on-one basis which is fantastic,” he said.
