The Round 17 Women’s Rising Star is Vivien Talbot from Macquarie University.
Vivien joined the Macquarie University Women's team at the start of 2015 as a first year University student with no experience of the AFL game.
She was very keen to learn and so took up the challenge of learning not only the fundamental skills of handballing and kicking but how the game should be played (and doing that in the pressure Women's Div 1). She has really progressed during the year, showing her learning capability - skills have improved, running patterns learned, goal direction learned – kicked a goal (or 2), how to dispose of the ball under pressure and how lay a tackle also learned. Vivien is a naturally gifted runner, which will hold her in good stead in the years ahead.
She has fitted in well in the team environment and we are sure, will continue to make a great contribution to the club in the coming years.
