The Winner is through to the Grand-Final to face University while the looser finishes their season.
The Dalby Swans take on the South Toowoomba Bombers for a place in 2015 McDonald’s Shield Grand-Final.
These teams have only played once this year way back in round 3 with the Swans getting over the Top to win by 22 points. The game was over by half-time with the Swans leading by 33 points. In this match up the LeQuesne brothers kicked 2 goals apiece to lead the Swans to Victory, while Seth Ham was the only multiple goal kicker for the Bombers.
The Swans have so much goal scoring ability with Joshua Halling, Ben Lequesne, Zimmorlei Farquharson and Daniel Lequesne all in the top 12 goal kickers for the U14s throughout the Home and Away season. The Swans have so much scoring power but they ball to get to their forward line and that’s where big man Cameron Ferguson will come into his own. His ability to break open packs and push forward will be the key for the Swans to win this match. Harry Daniel was best on ground against the Cougars last week and will be looking for another big match. Joshua Halling is the x-factor as he has won games on his own boot in the forward line and he will be looking for a big match.
The Bombers play without a recognised ruckmen using Tyler Debeny and Justus Liddicoat to use their athletic ability to win the ruck tap and move the ball forward. With the Swans having so many avenues to goal Inspirational Captain Cameron Lumsden will take the most dangerous Swans forward and look to nullify their ability in the match. Cameron Lumsden has been on fire all year and will be looking for another big match to move his team into the Grand-Final. For the Bombers they have their own x-factor in Alister Cameron the smooth moving small forward/ wing player. His ability to get into the open will be huge for the Bombers. However for the Bombers to win it could come down to Justus Liddicoat. He was best on ground in the under 16s semi-final last week. He will be looking to bring this form back to U14s to lead his team to victory.
There are stars all over the paddock for both teams but it will come down to which team settle the nerves first and play as a team to get victory. This match will be a cracker so get down to Heritage at 10:50am for the U14 Preliminary Final.
