The U12 Preliminary Final between the Coolaroo Roos and the South Toowoomba Bombers will be a nail biter. During the season they played in 3 matches. The first game was in round 1 where the Roos raced to a 19 point lead in the first quarter before the Bombers started to play. Coolaroo won by 8 points. Their second meeting was even closer with a 38 point draw between the 2 sides. While in round 12 the Roos prevailed over the Top of the Bombers by 7 points.
Sam Dearnaley has loved playing the Bombers as he has been named best on for the Roos in all their matches this year. He will be the key for the Roos to bounce back from their lose last week and be victories. Corey Lenton has been named in the best throughout the home and away season and will be looking to keep his form up. Riley Fleming is their key target in the forward line will need to be watched closely. Clancy Leadbetter was best on ground last week against the Cougars and will be looking to keep his form going to get his team through to the Grand-Final. Harrison Copeland will be needed to have a big game for the Roos. His ability to win his own ball is a great testament to his contested ball winning ability. Harrison and Sam will be looking to make it 3 wins for the season against the Bombers and make it through to the grand-Final
The Bombers have been led by 3 stars in James Packer, Owen Debney and Nicholas Nugent who have been their best when it has mattered the most in the season. However if the Bombers are to overcome the Roos they will need everyone to stand up. Kane Liddicoat is the big enforcer in the middle of the field and will be looked to get the contested ball out and give to his runners on the outside. His ability to break open backs could be the difference maker in this game. While the tackling pressure of first year players Courtney and Sarah Browne have been behind the run of great success for the Bombers over the last few rounds.
The game is between 2 teams that are closely matched up on paper and have been close throughout the season. Will the Bombers be able to turn their form around against the Roos and finally win 1 or will the Roos make it 3 wins against the Bombers and move through to the Grand-Final.
