PS4NPLQLD Matches Cancelled

Football Queensland has confirmed the final matches of the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Senior Men’s regular season have been cancelled.
The final three matches of the regular season were washed-out last weekend after they were previously rescheduled from their designated competition rounds earlier in the year.
The decision to cancel the matches comes after consultation with the respective clubs determined that suitable dates could not be found prior to the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Finals Series and the Australia-wide PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series.
The cancelled matches are: Brisbane Striker vs Northern Fury; SWQ Thunder v Moreton Bay United; Brisbane City vs Palm Beach SC.
Under PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland competition rules all three matches are recorded as nil-all draws.
The ruling means that Moreton Bay United FC finish the season in first place and are the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2015 Premiers.
As Premiers, Moreton Bay United will now represent Queensland in the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series against seven other clubs from across Australia later this month.
The decision also ensures Redlands United player Graham Fyfe will finish the competition as the leading goal scorer with 18 goals and will be awarded the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2015 Golden Boot.
The PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Finals Series will now commence this weekend with two Semi-Final matches and the Grand Final on the following weekend (12or 13 September).
Football Queensland Chief Operating Officer Graham Lee said cancelling the matches was the only available option given travel requirements of the teams and the need to complete the season on time.
“The decision to cancel these matches was not taken lightly,” Mr Lee said.
“The logistics of travel in a state the size of Queensland means the matches cannot be rescheduled for a second time prior to the fixed dates of the NPL Queensland Grand Final and the National Premier Leagues Finals Series.”
