Fantastic function at Magpie Sports Club (40 Hampton Street, Croydon Park) this Saturday from 12 noon – $50 which includes lunch, drinks and very special guest speaker - Simon Madden.
The greatest ruckman of his era Simon made his debut in 1974 at 16 years of age and finished in 1992 after 378 games and 575 goals for Essendon. Two time Premiership player in 1984 and 1985. He played 17 games for Victoria and was named in 6 All Australian teams. Simon was 4 times Essendon Best & Fairest and Team of the Century player as well as a Member of the AFL Hall Of Fame. He was President of the AFL Players Association 1985-1989. Simon is currently a member of the Essendon Football Club Board of Directors.
The occasion will focus on the achievements of Western Suburbs 1965 and 1975 premiership teams followed by our Premier Division side playing Manly Warringah Giants at 2.10 pm.
