U14 McDonalds Shield – Souths Vs Coolaroo
The second elimination final for this weekend sees the U14 line up between South Toowoomba AFC and Coolaroo AFC.
Both teams have had consistent seasons with Souths finishing only 2 points ahead of the Roos through the regular season with these teams meeting only once in round 6 at Gold Park. The Bombers were comfortable winners in this game 90-34 in a game that blew out after half time with only 19 points separating the teams at the main break. Young fill in U12’s player James Packer was exceptional in this game booting 5 goals while most of the drive was set up by playmakers Allister Cameron and Souths captain Cameron Lumsden.
For Coolaroo Judah Jackson and Rowan Anderson have had the most consistent seasons to date. Jackson possesses great skill and delivery by foot while the bigger body of Anderson can be extremely damaging if he is allowed to influence the game with his size. The potential match up of Rowan Anderson Vs Justus Liddicoat will be worth the price of admission alone in this game. Both players are very agile for their size and are largely considered future representative leaders for the Darling Downs.
Sadly neither team has been able to consistently field their strongest side throughout the regular season and both coaches will be hopeful of a full list to choose from for this blockbuster match.
