The Round 15 Women’s Rising Star nominee is Sam Murray from UNSW/ES.
Sam joined the Stingrays on a scholarship in 2015 after playing her junior football with Maroubra Saints.
Every week that she has taken the field she has starred in the backline, with another dominating performance this weekend at fullback.
With constant scoring attacks from the Newtown Breakaways, Sam repelled the ball by marking truly to stop the scoreboard tally rising and spoiled a certain goal with a touch right on the line.
An agile, lean player with a strong overhead mark and a natural ability to find space, Sam is definitely one to watch in the future.
