The AFL Sydney Round 15 Rising Star nominee is Jack Mapleson of North Shore.
Jack currently lives in Coffs Harbour and makes the 6 1/2 hour drive down to Sydney each weekend to play with North Shore. Needless to say Jack is totally committed to his footy.
He has been a member of the Swans Academy since 2011. After missing most of last year with a knee injury he came back late in the season and played 5 games with North Shore's U19's, including the grand final.
This year he has played for the Swans Academy U18's against Brisbane Lions and GWS and also the NSW/ACT Rams in the U16 championships. He then re-joined North Shore and has been playing some quality football in our strong U19's team.
In reward for this he was selected in our senior team this week where displayed a level skill beyond his years, in both the way he got the ball and the way he disposed of it. He was justly chosen as of our players.
Jack is a quality kid who is set for a bright future playing a major role in the resurgence of North Shore.
