Changes to the Hyundai A-League Salary Cap and Player Roster framework will see greater opportunity for PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues players to step up to the national top tier.

Under the new regulations announced today by Football Federation Australia, Hyundai A-League clubs will be able to sign a ‘Mature Age Rookie’ outside the Salary Cap designed to encourage talented players in the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues to be considered by Hyundai A-League clubs.

To qualify as a ‘Mature Age Rookie’ the player must be over the age of 21, not played in a fully professional competition for the last 18 months and last played football in Australia.

This player must be payed at least the Minimum Salary of $55,000 - an increase from the previous minimum of $51,000.

The announcement of the new regulation will be greeted warmly by players in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland - which has a proven record of both developing and returning players to the Hyundai A-League in its first three seasons.

Players that have made the move to the national top tier following stints in Quensland’s elite club competition include Joshua Brindell-South (Moreton Bay United), Jai Ingham (Olympic FC), Ross Archibald (Olympic FC), Braedyn Crowley (Northern Fury) and Zenon Caravella (FNQ Heat).

A host of Brisbane Roar Youth players have also made Hyundai A-League debuts after first excelling in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland, including Lachlan Jackson, Abraham Yango, Devante Clut, Brandon Borello and Shannon Brady.

Already this season several PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland players have trialled at various Hyundai A-League clubs across Australia.
