But with the decider still nearly two months away he says it is too tough to call, despite the Crocs sitting well clear on top of the AFL Cairns ladder in search of back-to-back flags.
Arnfield's Tigers were beaten 19.17 (131) to 5.3 (33) by the Crocs at Cazaly's on Saturday night in a performance that impressed the former Port Adelaide trainer.
"At this stage the table is a pretty accurate reflection of things; Port are clearly out in front," he said. "If the final was today I think they'd win, but Saints will come good at the right time, Souths are a very good side and even Centrals, if they hit their early form, I think will be a handful. You just don't know what can happen.
The Tigers were not embarassed in the twilight fixture and at least made full-forward Kyle Chapple wait another week to notch his first 100-goal season.
The Croc's goalsneak kicked four and needs another eight for the milestone.
"I put Travis Thorne on him and he did a good job," Arnfield said.
"We competed all night and that's all I asked after not showing any fight against Saints last week. We aren't in Port's league but we had a crack."
