With just five home-and-away rounds to play, the Peter Jackson VFL top eight is one step closer to being settled after Werribee upset the ladder-leading Box Hill Hawks in Round 15 action on Sunday.
A tough 13-point victory puts the eighth-placed Tigers two wins in front of Port Melbourne in ninth, while Box Hill’s loss means just two games separate the top eight teams.
Collingwood also recorded a crucial win over fellow top-eight side the Casey Scorpions, a result that sees the Magpies only outside the top four on percentage.
