U15 Tournament Review
The 2015 U15 National Championships were tremendously successful for the Harbour Basketball Association.
All four of our teams performed exceptionally well and achieved results that we are proud of. The players and coaches improved throughout the year, and tournament, and the progress made definitely bodes well for the future.
We are proud to have two second place finishes from the A Girls and Boys teams along with having the B girls team finish with a winning (4-3) record and a 11th place finish. The boys B team played great throughout the tournament and if not for injuries they may have gotten a few more wins. They also were in a tough pool with three strong teams above them and finished with a 3-4 record.
We had four players make the tournament team: Logan McIntosh, Miggy Falqueza, Gracie Hasler-Ewins, and Tayla Dalton.
We also had the only dunk at the tournament.
Many of the top age players in this tournament will have a solid chance at making the New Zealand U16 team next year and we are eagerly anticipating more New Zealand representatives coming from our Harbour playing group.
The coaches and managers have done an excellent job throughout the season and we would be in a very different position if it wasn't for all the hard work and effort these people has put into the players so we have to thank them tremendously.
Good luck to all the players in their remaining school games and overseas trips and we look forward to the trials later this year for the 2016 Representative season
