Port Melbourne remains stuck outside the Peter Jackson VFL top eight after Richmond stunned the Borough with a comeback victory on Sunday.
Port is a game behind eighth-placed Werribee, while the Tigers are now only two wins out of the eight after logging their third consecutive triumph.
In the day’s other matches, Footscray weathered a brave challenge from Geelong to establish itself in the top four, while Collingwood and Box Hill produced comfortable wins away from home against Frankston and Coburg respectively.

Telling facts: The Bulldogs steamed into the top four with a fighting win over the Cats at Simonds Stadium, their third consecutive victory. Telling facts: Like their AFL counterparts, the Hawks made a statement this weekend, notching a 100-point victory against the Lions at Piranha Park. Despite losing prolific on-baller Alex Woodward to a serious knee injury in the opening minutes of the match, Box Hill’s seven-goal-to-two first term set up a win that saw it reclaim top spot on the ladder.
