Perth Glory put on a mature performance to grind out a 3-0 win over Subiaco in their PS4 National Premier Leagues WA fixture at Inglewood Stadium.

Nikola Talimdzioski's opener at the stroke of half time gave the Glory a well-deserved lead.

As they have done all year, Subiaco fought back to pin the Glory in their half and were denied a penalty appeal.

But the young Glory side showed resolve to weather the onslaught and countered with two well-taken goals by Slobodan Vulin and Talimdzioski as Subiaco pressed for an equaliser.

Coach John Gibson was pleased to see his young side reap some of the rewards their performances have deserved.

“It’s a massive confidence boost for us,” he said.

“(They) showed a massive amount of resilience today, which they’ve shown all year, but they’ve been rewarded today for their performance so it’s been a super performance.

“Credit to Subiaco, they came out and they were really well organised, they play a certain style as well which is a great experience for our boys so it was fantastic that we held on.”

The Glory had started the game with the majority of possession as Subiaco looked content to play on the counter, which slowed the tempo of the game.

Glory’s Calvin Whitney was proving to be influential and rifled an attempt against the crossbar from well outside the penalty box.

Subiaco had the best chance to take the lead when Joshua Booysen raced through on goal after dispossessing Glory defender Nathan Costello at the half way line only to find Jordan Thurtell with his shot.

Just as the sides looked to end the first half level, Waliedin Ismail unlocked the Subiaco defence and played through Dejan Spaseki, whose half cleared cross was slammed home to by Valentini.

Subiaco started brighter after the break as half chance after half chance continued to find an intervening Glory body.

With the Glory seemingly on the ropes, Subiaco had a penalty appeal in the 56^th minute when Daniel Milne appeared to be bundled over by Gian Albano as he rose to head home at the far post.

The away fans saw their appeals waved away by referee David Bruce much to the frustration of assistant Subiaco coach Mike Brazil.

“It was definitely a penalty,” Brazil said.

“It is hard to take. It’s a game of opinions and sadly the referee saw it the other way.”

As Subiaco pushed forward Glory took advantage of the space in behind and Vulin doubled their lead from a tight angle after a cleaver one-two with the marauding Tom King.

Talimdzioski had a chance to make it 3-0 moments later when Stefan Valentini played him through, but he saw his finish come back off the post.

Talimdzioski would eventually make amends with an unerring finish with Spaseski playing the role of provider again, as coach Gibson called for more of the same next week against ECU Joondalup.

“For us nothing changes. Whether it’s a win or a loss we just try to get better. We just move forward try to develop and we try to get better,” he said.
