Kids from the Chinchilla Suns, Coolaroo Football Club, Dalby Swans, Toowoomba Tigers and the South Toowoomba Bombers played on the Gabba on 12th of July.
The excited boys and girls were a part of the half-time action of the Brisbane Lions vs Sydney Swans on the 12 of July.
The kids got an experience they will never forget in getting to run onto the field and play a game of Aussie Rules in front of 20 000 people. The excitement was easily heard as the boys and girls got themselves ready down in the dressing rooms with lots of sequels and laughter heard throughout the Gabba.
Once the big boys were off the field at half-time it was time for the real stars to come out and play. Each team played a game on the outer sides of the field near the crowds. The kids enjoyed every moment on the field and some even played up to the crowd getting them involved. Every single kid was able to have a kick on the field and the team work was exceptional. It was great to see.
In the middle of the Gabba, Coolaroo and Souths played in the little league game. Coolaroo wore the Swans uniforms while Souths wore the Lions uniform. Both teams showcased their skills and would be hoping that the Brisbane Lions coaching staff were keeping an eye out on the future talent the Darling Downs has to offer.
It was an amazing evening that all the kids will never forget.
