Shaleise Law has added another achievement to her already impressive CV by recently being accepted for a 2015 Jim Stynes Scholarship.
The Stynes Scholarship program is designed to assist diversity participants with any associated costs involving football, school/work commitments, in order to help progress with sporting and academic pursuits. Shaleise was 1 of only 3 successful applicants from Queensland in 2015 and the only female athlete to receive the scholarship in the state.
Shaleise has endured much success over the last 4 seasons of her AFL career including state and All Australian selection at both U16 level and recently U18 level from the National Championships played earlier this year. Remarkably Shaleise was rewarded with All Australian selection from this year’s carnival on the back of only 2 games played. A concussion kept her from playing Queensland’s final 2 games of the championships in which they finished a close runner-up to Victoria.
Shaleise has since been selected in the state women’s squad who will look to play off against NSW / ACT in August. Congratulations Shaleise on this fantastic achievement.
