LANCASTER v NAGAMBIE
There is a huge match in the sense of shaping the top two.
As it stands Nagambie has the upper hand to grab the all-important double chance having only lost to Avenel in 2015.
The last meeting between these teams resulted in a win for Nagambie.
Nagambie came to play and really took up it to the reigning premier, who started the season with back-to-back losses.
Since the early season hiccup, the Leanne Busch-led Wombats have been very good, only losing…to you guessed it – Avenel.
That was a big loss, so it will be important for the Wombats to give a good account against what is a very well led Nagambie team.
Abby Misti has her team playing some excellent netball this year and expect them to not fear the Wombats on their home court.
STANHOPE v AVENEL
This is a massive test for the once powerhouse of the competition.
The Kerrie Gray led Stanhope has welcomed back some familiar faces in Molly Breen and Sarah West back from injury.
They will get better with each game and certainly make a difference in the run home where the Lions should claim enough wins to play finals.
The Lions had to settle for a draw last start when drawing 38-38 with Violet Town.
Avenel has been faultless this year and touched up Stanhope on the opening day of the season.
The challenge for the 2013 runner-up is to bridge the gap between its good wins and heavy losses against the premiership fancies.
Kathryn Hard has the entire club firing on all cylinders, which in turn keeps the pressure on the girls playing A-grade to perform every week or risk being dropped to B-grade.
I expect Stanhope to give a good account of itself, but it will be the Swans in front at the final whistle.
OTHER
In the remaining matches, Ardmona will aiming to keep alive its faith finals aspirations when it takes on the winless Rushworth, Girgarre has a challenge on its hands when hosting finals bound Tallygaroopna, Undera should chalk up another win at home to Longwood and Merrigum will be out to grab an important win its quest to edge past Violet Town and into the top six when it takes on Murchison.
My tips: Ardmona, Tallygaroopna, Undera, Merrigum, Avenel and Nagambie.
