The South Australian Community Football League has announced a 32-man squad to represent the SA Country team on Saturday July 25.
Set to tackle the Western Australian Country team in Mandurah (WA), the Croweaters will be coached by Steve Lubcke for the third year in succession.
Under Lubcke's tutelage, the SA Country team has won its past two encounters against the Sandgropers, in Perth (2013) and at Alberton Oval (2014).
Boasting an array of star performers at last weekend's MAC SA Country Championships, the squad includes several players with SANFL experience.
Southern Districts spearhead Nick Mott is likely to be a focal point in attack along with Mount Compass forward Ziggy Vitkunas and Murray South East goalsneak Adam Merrett.
The squad also includes 2013 SA Under-18 midfielder Campbell Combe, who was named as the best Under-21 player at this year’s Country Championships after a strong campaign with the Northern Zone.
In defence, the Croweaters should be well served by Victor Harbor backman Tarquin Brown and Woodville-West Torrens premiership player Zack Hier, who represented the Central zone at the Country Championships.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, SA Country coach Steve Lubcke revealed the team’s leadership group, including a captain, will be announced in the week leading up to the big clash.
