It was a return to the winners list for Werribee and Richmond in Round 12 Sunday games.
Werribee jumped back into the top four after having only won one of its previous four games, while Richmond were the only away team of the round to record a win, returning home from a windy Eureka Stadium with their first four points since May – ironically also against North Ballarat.
Let’s take a look at the Sunday results:
RICHMOND 11.9 (75) d NORTH BALLARAT 6.7 (43)
Win/loss: Richmond 3-8 / North Ballarat 3-8
Telling facts: Both sides struggled with the cross wind in the first half, with Richmond scoring the only two goals of the first half. The scoring floodgates opened in the second half, but it was Richmond with four of the last five goals of the game that saw them run out 32 points winners, ending a six game losing streak for the Tigers.
Leading goalkickers: Black 2 (North Ballarat) / McBean 4 (Richmond)
WERRIBEE 15.18 108 d COBURG 7.8 (50)
Win/loss: Werribee 7-4 / Coburg 3-7
Telling facts: A strong first term and dominant final term has seen Werribee return to the top 4. After a five goal to one opening term – with Ben Brown kicking two of his four goals during this term – Werribee overcame a third term challenge from the Lions to power home with a six goal final term to record their first win since Round 8.
Leading goalkickers: Brown 4, Porter, Speight 2 (Werribee) / Uysal, Featherstone 2 (Coburg)
