Palm Beach SC’s blockbuster Westfield FFA Cup match against South Melbourne FC will be broadcast live and in full on Fox Sports, it has been confirmed.
Football Federation Australia today announced that the match between the defending PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland and PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria Champions will be played at Cbus Super Stadium as part of the broadcast arrangement.
An audience in excess of quarter of a million people are expected to tune in to see which of the two clubs will advance to the next round of the competition.
Palm Beach SC President Peter Williamson said the live broadcast and choice of venue is a boon for the club and the entire Gold Coast football community.
“We’ve always supported the FFA Cup and we think it’s one of the best things that’s ever happened for Australian football.”
“Playing at Cbus Stadium is a fantastic opportunity for our players, supporters and football fans on the Gold Coast to come watch a decent game of football in comfort in a professional stadium.”
"Normally our fans are standing in mud on the sideline or sitting on aluminium benches, so to have the opportunity to play at Cbus is very exciting and we are all looking forward to it."
Williamson added the club is actively seeking to make the most of the broadcast and invited interest from potential sponsors who are seeking national exposure.
“There’s a wonderful opportunity here for sponsors. There’s going to be over two hours of broadcast time of this game on FoxSports.”
“We know what television audiences have been in the past and to be televised nationally is a wonderful opportunity for companies to get their product name out there at relatively low cost.”
“We’re looking for a corporate partner for our front of shirts and there is advertising in good positions around the ground that we can provide.”
“It offers very good value for money,” Williamson concluded.
