MURCHISON v GIRGARRE
Wins have been extremely difficult to come for two of the league’s teams in the bottom half of the ladder.
Girgarre chalked up only its second win of the year when overcoming a gallant Longwood outfit by seven goals.
While, Murchison was unable to add to its couple of wins in 2015 when beaten by Ardmona.
Both of these clubs are building towards the future, with plenty of girls given an opportunity to experience the higher level of A-grade.
Not much will separate the pair and it will be a case of minimising your errors and capitalising when you have control of the ball.
VIOLET TOWN v UNDERA
Violet Town missed an opportunity to consolidate its place in the top six after beaten by Merrigum.
It was a big game for the Violet Town girls and they were unable to get the job done.
Pip O’Donoghue would have been bitterly disappointed that they missed a chance to put a space between themselves and Merrigum.
She knows her girls need to be on their game despite playing Undera.
Undera has had its moments during the first half of the season, having won three games.
The Towners’ should win, but they won’t have it all their own way.
AVENEL v MERRIGUM
Merrigum had a great win in edging past Violet Town.
It was an eight point game as such and a loss would have been devastating for the Bulldog girls.
This without doubt will be a tough task for the Bulldogs, especially against the unbeaten and high flying Swans.
Kath Hard has the Swans in tip top form.
The scary thing for other teams is I reckon the Swans can get better.
They were ruthless in brushing aside the reigning premier in emphatic fashion and I expect them to continue their winning form.
OTHER
In the other matches, an improving Longwood play host to Lancaster, with the Wombats on the rebound and looking to return to the winners list after a thrashing at the hands of Avenel.
Ardmona will be looking to give the second placed Nagambie a run for their money, but in the end the depth of the Lakers is likely to be too much for the Cats to combat.
And, Tallygaroopna will be too strong for the winless Rushworth.
My tips: Tallygaroopna, Nagambie, Lancaster, Avenel, Violet Town and Murchison.
