In a curtain-raiser to Carlton’s AFL match with the Gold Coast Suns, the Northern Blues recorded their highest-ever VFA/VFL score against Frankston in an important percentage-boosting victory, while in the later game, Sandringham entrenched itself in the top four by defeating Footscray in a thriller that was full of momentum swings.
