The Round 7 Women’s Rising Star nominee is Emma Nolen from Penrith Ramettes.
Emma Nolan, playing just her third game of senior women’s football, was named “best on Ground” in the Ramettes win over the previously undefeated UTS Shamrocks at Greygums Oval on Saturday.
The diminutive seventeen year old has been mixing her commitments between AFL, netball and basketball this year but rarely misses a training session which has seen her reacquaint herself with a sport that she last played as an auskicker with junior club, Emu Plains/Glenmore Park Lions, a club who just this season have formed an impressive youth girls team.
Emma racked up over 20 possession in the game, gave accurate delivery and put her body on the line all game with great defence against much bigger opponents.
In a team boasting two representative players and looking to make the finals for the third successive year, Emma’s achievements to be named in the best in two of her three appearances certainly highlight a long and successful career.
