Analysis:
A no-nonsense inside midfielder, Verkuylen sets the tone for her side with her ability to win the football however has the ability to play all over the ground. An excellent runner with good skills, Georgia is the key member of Newtown’s midfield team who sets them up in attack. Surprisingly not a big vote getter in last years league Best & Fairest count, Verkuylen finished top 10 in 2013.
Boasting nine representative games with NSW and AFL Sydney, Verkulyen brings a wealth of experience to a resurgent Breakaways line up who look to be genuine contenders in 2015.
Injury has cruelled Georgia’s season to date which meant she missed out on State duties where she would have been a lock, the Breakaways will be keen to see her return to the park.
