Analysis:

Nguyen is a veteran now of AFL Sydney football having played over six seasons of football with Sydney University and most recently UNSW/ES. Only slightly built, Nguyen’s athleticism combined with her exquisite skills make her a damaging half forward or outside midfielder.

Arguably one of the best kicks in the league, 34 goals in Mai’s last three seasons ensure that opposition sides closely guard her to limit her impact on the scoreboard. Another who polls well in League Best and Fairest voting, Nguyen finished inside the top 10 last year.

Nguyen’s impressive footballing resume includes 9 representative games with AFL Sydney, NSW (National Championships) and NSW/ACT state games.

With UNSW/ES knocking on the premiership door in recent seasons, Nguyen shapes as one of the real keys for the Stingrays as they look to go one step further than 2014.
