Hi Footy fans!!
Here's an interesting stat: in each of the last three seasons only one team that was in the top 6 after Round 4 has dropped out by seasons end. The Dees were replaced by the Wildcats in 2012, the Swans overtook the Roos in 2013 and the Dees dropped out for the Blues last year.
Scary stuff for teams on the bubble right now like Dingos and Gargoyles.
Toronto Rebels vs Toronto Eagles
3rd vs 4th and an 8 point game for both clubs...in the fitting timeslot of 8:30am on a Saturday morning. These two couldn't be more even and are 10 points apart on For and 2 points apart on Against. Phantom is predicting back and forth game all morning but questions whether the Rebels can keep the Eagles forwards in check.
Phantom Prediction: Eagles by 10
Hamilton Wildcats vs Broadview Hawks
The Broadview steam train continues to roll with the Hawks winning 9 or there last 10 dating back to Round 9 last year. A game clear already the Hawks now face the bottom three teams in the next three weeks. Hamilton are improving but it's tough to see them winning at Scarborough against such a dominant team.
Phantom Prediction: Hawks by 66
Toronto Dingos vs High Park Demons
Dingos are better than there 1-2 record and it showed last week when they rattled the Hawks cage right until the siren. The Demons were no match against the Swans last week and might have to butter up to another belting this week as Dingos will be hoping to keep in touch with the top 6. Expect Edwards to extend his lead at the top of the goalkicking.
Phantom Prediction: Dingos by 80
Central Blues vs Ottawa Swans
Another mismatch game at UTSC but Ottawa do have to travel. The problem for the Blues will be that the Swans have found a lot of different goalkickers this season, unlike a lot of the other teams who rely on a few key forwards. Rutledge can only cover one so who stops all the other Swans?
Phantom Prediction: Swans by 45
Grand River Gargoyles vs Etobicoke Kangaroos
This is game of the round and should be a cracker if the conditions hold up. With Dyer in the ruck, Herbert and Kerm up forward the Gargs can beat any team, but can they shut down Chippa, Cuzner and JR? The top 6 players on each side should cancel eachother out so the teams whos Canadians get on top should win this.
Phantom Prediction: Roos by 7
And there you have it! #AFLOrd4 should be an very intersting round of footy. Until next week!!
