PLAYING IN BRENNAN MILESTONE GAME A HIGHLIGHT
Daniel Hamilton will be forever grateful for playing in Sam Brennan’s milestone game earlier this year.
The 19-year-old second year university student is making his mark in a very good Rochester team.
He is the latest Rising Star nominee after an impressive performance during the Tigers’ seventh win of the season against the Shepparton Swans last weekend.
Hamilton is like most footballers before him, having started in the under 12s at Tiger-land.
He progressed through the ranks before graduating to the thirds a year before he had to.
The half-forward flanker was exposed to senior football on the opening day of the 2014 season against arch rival Echuca.
“Playing in that game was one of the highlights for me,” he said.
Hamilton only fronted for one further game in the seniors later in the year against Seymour.
This year has played the three games – against Shepparton, Euroa and the Shepparton Swans.
He rates the games against Euroa and the Swans the hardest of his five games of senior football.
“The thing I noticed is that you were under so much pressure that you didn’t get a lot of time to think about what to do when you got the ball,” he said.
His goal is simple is to play as many games in the senior side and hopefully feature in the September action.
“The entire coaches have been fantastic to me and James has really given me an opportunity,” he said.
“He is a great bloke on and off the field.”
