SWQ Thunder will have home ground advantage against Palm Beach SC for their looming Westfield FFA Cup Qualifying tie.
The two PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland clubs will meet at Clive Berghofer Stadium in Toowoomba early next month as they continue their quest to qualify for a place in the national Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32.
The fixture is a rematch of last year’s qualifier that also saw the two side’s clash as the last team’s remaining in the South West Queensland Zone and Gold Coast Zone qualification pathway.
Sharks won that night with a convincing 4-0 result as part of their Cinderella story Westfield FFA Cup run that ultimately saw the club reach the Quarter Finals of the competition.
The defending PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Premiers-Champions also boast form against Thunder this year following a 3-0 win in the league in Toowoomba in April.
Both clubs battled hard against third-tier community club opponents to qualify for this year’s Round 6 tie - Thunder scoring in extra time to down West Wanderers 1-0, while Sharks survived an epic penalty shoot-out against Broadbeach United following a 3-3 extra time draw.
The winner of the Thunder-Sharks tie will face the winner of the Sunshine Coast-Wide Bay Round 6 match for a place in the national Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32.
